But the Longhorns’ strong season has them in play for a major bowl game.ESPN just released its final bowl predictions that will no doubt leave Texas fans pleased.Two analysts for ESPN have the Longhorns playing their final game of 2018 in a New Year’s Six bowl game against another team that couldn’t get it done on Championship Saturday.ESPN analysts Mitch Sherman and Kyle Bonagura both have Texas scheduled to face off with SEC runner-up Georgia in the Allstate Sugar Bowl at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on January 1 at 8:45 p.m.The Bulldogs are coming off a heartbreaking 35-28 loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game in which they blew a 14-point lead.There’s little doubt that QB Jake Fromm and company will be looking to get redemption against any team they come across in the New Year’s Six.Texas last appeared in the Sugar Bowl in 1995, a 28-10 loss to Virginia Tech. Their only win in the bowl game came in 1948 in a 27-7 win over Alabama.last_img
