True, it had to wait for 24 hours, and it required a change in venue to a far more unfamiliar location, but the result for the Fayetteville-Manlius girls golf team was the same – a Section III championship, its fourth in a row.And the Hornets weren’t alone in finding undefeated glory in 2019. Christian Brothers Academy did so, too, perfect against Onondaga High School League foes and then claiming the sectional small-school team title. All the area’s golfers were set to head back to Kanon Valley, site of recent sectional tournaments, when bad weather early in the week flooded the course, rendering it too soggy for a competition of this importance. Camden’s Danielle Caringi and Utica-Notre Dame/Whiteboro/Oriskany’s Gabby Papale tied for eighth with 93 as Papale’s teammate, Bella Pepe, and C-NS’s Abby Ainsworth were named alternates. Two days earlier, at the Pompey Club, the Section III boys golf West division championships took place, and it proved quite successful for both Bishop Grimes and Manlius-Pebble Hill.It was the Cobras claiming the small-school division team title, led by Anthony Falgiatano, who shot an 83 to finish sixth among individuals.Connor Alexander had an 86 to tie for seventh, with Louis Pelose adding an 89 to tie for 11th and Ben Schultz tying for 13th place at 90, four Grimes golfers advancing to the state qualifier at Seven Oaks. They were joined by MPH’s dynamic duo of Johnny Gruninger and Grant Lewis. Fresh off an Onondaga Junior Invitational victory the day before at Onondaga Golf and Country Club, Gruninger shot a three-under-par 69 to beat the field by seven shots, while Lewis had an 81 to finish alone in fourth place. | We have arrived in Tanzania! What a welcome for @YannickBolasie #EvertonInTz pic.twitter.com/IMWiKOxJ68— Everton (@Everton) July 12, 2017 Yannick Bolasie has told talkSPORT he is relishing the chance to learn from ‘world class’ Wayne Rooney. The Toffees re-signed England’s record goalscorer from Manchester United last week as they continued their impressive rebuild under Ronald Koeman.Davy Klaassen, Jordan Pickford and Michael Keane have also arrived at Goodison Park in the close season and Bolasie is excited by what the future holds for the Merseyside club. The winger, who will miss the first half of the new season with a knee injury, said: “I’m itching to get the shirt on.“There are some top quality players that have come in, especially Rooney, who is world class. He will bring a leader’s mentality and it will be good to learn off him.“The signings we have made have definitely made the team stronger. The competition for places is going to be strong, but that is what I live for and I am looking forward to fighting for my place. It will bring another level to my game.”Rooney has traded places with Romelu Lukaku at Everton, with the Belgian striker completing a £75million switch to Manchester United on Monday.Lukaku has been the Toffees’ top goalscorer for the past four seasons and Bolasie wishes him nothing but the best at his new club – but he is confident Everton will thrive without him.“At Everton we have made some great signings that can cover Rom’s goals in all different types of ways,” he said.“We just have to move on and we look forward to the future because the future for us is exciting.”Bolasie was speaking from Tanzania, where Everton are playing a friendly against Kenyan side Gor Mahia on Thursday. The Congo international travelled with the squad as he continues his recovery from injury and received a rapturous welcome from locals on his arrival [see below]. Asked when he expects to be back playing, he replied: “That is my secret!“I’m confident that it will be by the end of the year, but it should be earlier than that.“I’m developing nicely. There have been no setbacks as of yet. I will keep my little return date in my head and probably let you know in a month or so!”

Gardaí are investigating the driver in this video of a dangerous driver doing a ‘doughnut’ manoeuvre outside Letterkenny Court House. The driver, from the North, was in Letterkenny to watch the Donegal Rally. The video of his antics in the centre of the town – in broad daylight – has been posted to social media.Another man stood in the centre of the road whilst his friend spun his car around him.It has sparked an angry reaction from people opposed to the Donegal International Rally, because it attracts dangerous boy racers to the county. Five people have already been arrested by Gardaí for dangerous driving.Rally organisers have put a huge emphasis on road safety again this year for an event which brings millions of euro into the local economy. However it appears the message is not getting across to a small number of individuals. In the video the young man filming it can be heard shouting ‘Go On John’ in what was a dangerous incident orchestrated for the cameras. The man filming it – and the man driving the car – had boasted earlier on Facebook about it.“Wait til ye see what we do in Letterkenny,” wrote one.Shocked motorists had to stay at lights to avoid a collision at a busy junction between Letterkenny Court House (where John will be appearing some time soon) and Gallagher’s Hotel. Today a Garda spokesman said: “We are aware of this video and an investigation is under way into it.“The behaviour on display is extremely dangerous and we will make every effort to bring all those involved before the courts.”The car registration number is clearly visible in the Facebook post – with the man who made the video tagging the name of the driver.DDTV: GARDAÍ HUNT DANGEROUS RALLY FAN IN THIS VIDEO was last modified: June 22nd, 2014 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:dangerous drivingDDTVDonegal Dailydonegal rallyletterkenny

Share Facebook Twitter Google + LinkedIn Pinterest John Deere introduces its new 5R Series Tractors that leverage existing technologies normally found in large tractors, to provide customers with unrivaled maneuverability, an easy-to-use transmission, increased visibility, loader integration, and operator comfort.A 7.4-foot wheelbase paired with a 60-degree steering angle, provides a tight turning radius of 12.1 feet. Customers working in confined areas such as barns, will be able to easily maneuver in tight areas increasing their productivity.Shifting is virtually effortless with two fully electronic transmission options, CommandQuad Manual and Command8. Using a multi-range selection, the operator can toggle from B range through D range without stopping. “Base equipment also includes AutoClutch, leveraged from our larger row-crop tractors. That means no clutching is necessary, ever. Step on the brake and the clutch automatically disengages,” says Chris Lammie, global product line planner for John Deere.Upward visibility has been improved 80 percent through the Premium Panorama cab roof, compared to a John Deere 5M Tractor with the Premium Cab. Forward visibility is 7 percent better thanks to single-piece front windshield, making it ideal for loader applications.Six halogen work lights (two front, two rear, and two side) are included as standard equipment to shine brightly and improve visibility in low-light conditions. For maximum illumination, owners can choose to replace the halogen lights with optional factory- or field-installed LED lights. An interactive display located in the right hand cornerpost, is placed out of the line of sight from the operator. “Tractor operations can be customized by the operator to best fit their preferences,” says Lammie.A high-back swivel seat features thicker cushions and wider armrests than those found on John Deere 5M Tractors. Options normally found in larger John Deere row-crop tractors also are now available for the 5R. New to the utility tractor lineup, optional cab suspension provides a more comfortable ride for long work days. The 5R can be equipped with the new John Deere 540R Loader. The loader’s automatic mast latch, single-point hydraulic connection, remote implement latch and slide-slung self-leveling links provide an integrated loader experience for the 5R Tractor operator. Removal or installation of the loader can be accomplished with a single trip out of the cab, thanks to a latch system that automatically connects the loader once contact is made between the loader boom and mounting frames, simplifying the connection process. To improve loader operation, a mechanical or electrohydraulic loader joystick option is integrated into the swivel seat. Gear-shift buttons and a joystick reverser are built into the loader joystick control. “Its simple one-handed operation lets you control loader, speed, and direction, all without letting go of the joystick,” Lammie says. For more information about the 5R Tractor and 540R Loader, contact your local John Deere dealer or visit www.JohnDeere.com/ag.
Share Facebook Twitter Google + LinkedIn Pinterest The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) opened enrollment for the Dairy Margin Coverage (DMC) program on June 17 and has started issuing payments to producers who purchased coverage. Producers can enroll through Sept. 20, 2019.“Times have been especially tough for dairy farmers, and while we hope producers’ margins will increase, the Dairy Margin Coverage program is providing support at a critical time for many in the industry,” said Bill Northey, USDA Under Secretary for Farm Production and Conservation. “With lower premiums and higher levels of assistance than previous programs, DMC is already proving to be a good option for a lot of dairy producers across the country. USDA is committed to efficiently implementing the safety net programs in the 2018 Farm Bill and helping producers deal with the challenges of the ever-changing farm economy.”Authorized by the 2018 Farm Bill, DMC replaces the Margin Protection Program for Dairy (MPP-Dairy). The program offers protection to dairy producers when the difference between the all-milk price and the average feed cost (the margin) falls below a certain dollar amount selected by the producer. To date, nearly 10,000 operations have signed up for the new program, and FSA has begun paying approximately $100 million to producers for January through May.May Margin PaymentDMC provides coverage retroactive to January 1, 2019, with applicable payments following soon after enrollment. The May 2019 income over feed cost margin was $9.00 per hundredweight (cwt.), triggering the fifth payment for eligible dairy producers who purchase the $9.50 level of coverage under DMC. Payments for January, February, March and April also were triggered. With the 50% hay blend, FSA’s revised April 2019 income over feed cost margin is $8.82 per cwt. The revised margins for January, February and March are, respectively, $7.71, $7.91 and $8.66.Coverage Levels and MPP ReimbursementsDairy producers can choose coverage levels from $4 up to $9.50 at the time of signup. More than 98% of the producers currently enrolled have elected $9.50 coverage on up to 95% of their production history. More InformationOn December 20, 2018, President Trump signed into law the 2018 Farm Bill, which provides support, certainty and stability to our nation’s farmers, ranchers and land stewards by enhancing farm support programs, improving crop insurance, maintaining disaster programs and promoting and supporting voluntary conservation. FSA is committed to implementing these changes as quickly and effectively as possible, and today’s updates are part of meeting that goal. For more information, visit farmers.gov DMC webpage or contact your local USDA service center. Insulated and airtightThe house has been variously dubbed “the 204House” or the “LeBois House.” The project features R-28 Icynene LD-R-50 walls and an R-55 Icynene LD-R-50 roof, with 2×6 and 2×8 advanced framing, Saft noted in an email to GBA. The exterior walls are wrapped in 1-inch polyisocyanurate, the roof in 2-inch polyiso. Siding consists of pre-painted fiber cement board and white standing seam metal panels. Saft said there is a 1-inch space between the siding and the polyiso to help “shade” the walls and prevent heat and moisture buildup.R-21 extruded polystyrene (XPS) was used for the basement/crawlspace walls, and R-16.5 XPS under the slab. Saft also used SeriousWindows’ 501 series vinyl-frame windows, with SeriousGlass 8 double-pane glass. The one renewable-energy component of the house is a 3.25-kW thin-film photovoltaic system by Houston-based WhirlwindSolar. Although sustainable materials and energy efficient design have found their way into some post-Katrina residential rebuilds on the Gulf Coast, Louisiana isn’t otherwise known for leading the charge to greener home construction. And that puts the house built by architect Corey Saft at the forefront of green housing in the state. The home, a 1,200-sq.-ft. three-bedroom, two-bath in the south-central town of Lafayette, is in fact an anomaly in Louisiana, mainly because Saft designed it to qualify not only for LEED Platinum certification but also certification by Passive House Institute US.Saft, a professor of architecture at the University of Louisiana, told the Lafayette-based news daily The Advocate that the building’s energy-recovery ventilator – an UltimateAir RecoupAerator, with MERV 12 filters – will deliver exceptional air quality. The home’s overall airtightness and shell insulation, he adds, make it “a little bit of an experiment” for housing in the Louisiana climate.
