Harbour View’s assistant coach Ricardo ‘Bibi’ Gardner says that the players who recently rejoined the team will be disciplined for staying away too long. With just one win and three losses from their four games in the new Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) season, Gardner is not pleased about the absence of core players during pre-season. “We didn’t have a full squad of players as some were away during the summer. The core players are back, but they have to face discipline,” Gardener disclosed during the RSPL weekly press conference at Red Stripe last Thursday. “We have to start treating football in Jamaica like a job. If players are late, they have to face discipline,” he insisted. Among the players who were away in the summer are captain John-Ross Edwards, Nicholas Beckett, Mark Miller, Hugh Evans, and Evan Taylor. Edwards played in the last game against Arnett Gardens on September 25 at the Anthony Spaulding Complex, where Harbour View went down 1-0. He was substituted in the second half of the game. However, the other senior players are yet to play. “We have players with quality, but it is just to find the right balance moving forward,” the former Jamaica and Bolton Wanderers captain added. Harbour View will next play against Waterhouse in the RSPL tomorrow, starting at 7 p.m. at the Harbour View Stadium. The ‘Stars of the East’ are 10th on three points and in tenth position, while Waterhouse are yet to score a point and are anchored at the bottom in the 12-team league.

“By showcasing the best of the all-new Malibu alongside the best of Condé Nast’s leading publications,” adds Majoros, “we feel we will be providing consumers with greater value and a richer Malibu story.” Condé Nast is reporting that its 23 Stories content studio has been given the keys to roll out a year-long, multi-platform and multi-channel messaging program for Chevrolet and its all-new Chevrolet Malibu, including exposure in brands Vogue, Vanity Fair, Self, Glamour, and GQ. Chevrolet’s director of car marketing, Steve Majoros, views the campaign as a surer way to deliver messages about the vehicle to a target market of Condé Nast subscribers. The “Year of the Unexpected” campaign will incorporate diverse messaging around the new vehicle that will be carried across the five Condé Nast titles. It plays off the technological and design advancements incorporated into the new Malibu, carrying a theme of novelty and surprise into the content. Josh Stinchcomb, senior VP and managing director at 23 Stories, describes the campaign as being in the agency’s creative and structural wheelhouse. A multi-brand custom magazine will also become part of the campaign in late February. Coinciding with Leap Day, February 29, it will go out to select subscribers. As the campaign progresses, it will deliver a mix of branded content, including video, to the brand sites throughout the year. In a novel arrangement, a major client of Condé Nast’s branded-content arm is entrusting it to develop what amounts to a virtually review-free campaign. At the American Magazine Media Conference held earlier this month in New York, Dirk Standen, 23 Stories editor-in-chief, revealed that his team and the creative teams at the participating Condé Nast brands have carte blanche on the campaign’s messaging; Chevrolet does not approve the content before its released to the public. The campaign takes shape from content that debuts this month in the form of a publisher’s column appearing in each participating magazine, the Condé Nast release says. Branded content will be drawn from columns and will reside on the brands’ digital platforms. “What is particularly exciting is how the program delivers on the promise of 23 Stories, titles working together to co-create and distribute content, across platforms and at-scale,” Stinchcomb said in a statement.

COPY LINKAD Loading … Close Over 60% housing projects in 50 cities delayed: Survey The Madhya Pradesh government on Friday ordered a thorough investigation on an alleged Rs 300 crore scam in which Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued false house completion certificates to more than 100 under construction housing projects.Allegedly back-dated completion certificates were issued to housing projects that were incomplete in an attempt to save the builders from the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) regulations.Commissioner of Urban Administration Department (UAD) Vivek Agrawal will head the investigation. Almost entire of BMC’s building permission section had to be shifted after the scam was exposed, the Times of India reported.According to Times of India, RERA’s chairman Anthony DeSa had earlier warned BMC of its irregularities but it did not help. DeSa also received complaints from some people in October about houses they had booked.”When builders were questioned with regard to those complaints, they produced completion certificates from BMC but the pictures that the complainants had shown made it amply clear that the houses were incomplete,” said DeSa.DeSa had also asked the BMC to verify the reliability of those completion certificates but have not responded yet to his query. On Thursday, the Bombay High Court had ruled that all the incomplete and ongoing housing projects will also be covered under the RERA Act. ReutersSome states like Haryana and Uttar Pradesh had allegedly refrained from keeping the ongoing projects under the watch of RERA.RERA was implemented on 1st May 2017 to protect the interest of home buyers and also push investments in the country’s real estate industry. It was essential to implement RERA because for a long time in India, home buyers have complained that the real estate transactions were in favour of the builders.RERA aims to create more equitable and fair transactions between the seller and the buyer of properties. It is expected that RERA will make real estate purchase simpler through better accountability and transparency.
The new REX peripheral is a strip-shaped device that sticks to the base of the computer screen on a desktop or laptop and plugs into the computer via a USB connection. It works with Tobii Gaze software, for launching and browsing. Tobii said that “You can also use zoom and auto-center to quickly navigate, overview and access information. It allows you to easily move between different levels in the file structure all the way from the start page, through open programs and windows, to browsing tabs, slides or sheets in your programs.” Explore further Citation: Tobii’s eye tracker REX will showcase at CES (w/ video) (2013, January 3) retrieved 18 August 2019 from https://phys.org/news/2013-01-tobii-eye-tracker-rex-showcase.html (Phys.org)—Tobii Technology is introducing the REX, a USB-connected peripheral that works with Tobii’s software Gaze. The Stockholm-based company will show its REX device for Windows 8 at the CES show in Las Vegas, from January 8. Visitors will see how REX offers an eye-tracking difference in the way that desktop and laptop users can manage their screen images, pages and content. One example is a computer user looking at an app for its launch and then just tapping once on the touchpad. The eye-tracking technology from Tobii is designed to use eye positioning to help control the computer, but working in combination with, rather than replacing, other controls such as touch, mouse and keyboard. The user will still find the mouse useful for interacting, but the eyes will handle movements across the screen. CeBIT: Laptop tracks gaze, taking eye-tracking out of lab More information: www.tobii.com/en/gaze-interaction/global/ Information so far is that a limited edition of 5,000 units will be available before the end of this year. Developers, however, can already obtain their special editions for $995. Tobii is described as a vendor of eye tracking and eye control. The company is an outgrowth of a research initiative in 2001 at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. Its team sees eye-tracking playing more of a part in human machine interaction and they are keen to be a big part of that growth. The REX debut indicates the company’s push to bring eye tracking into broader use. This will not be the first time, however, that Tobii has leveraged a major show event to showcase what its eye-tracking technology is all about. Last year, Tobii drew interest at CeBIT when it showed what it said was the world’s first laptop with integrated eye control. The showpiece was a prototype, developed in collaboration with Lenovo. “More than anything else, the Tobii laptop prototype is proof that our eye tracking technology is mature enough to be used in standard computer interfaces,” said CEO Henrik Eskilsson, at the time. © 2013 Phys.org This document is subject to copyright. Share Posted by Travelweek Group WASHINGTON — Donald Trump may be spending most of his days inside the frantic hurricane of the presidential campaign, but inside his new hotel in Washington, calm and luxury prevail.Staff members offer impeccable service, serving Champagne to guests waiting to check in and preparing rooms with turned-down covers and bedside chocolates. Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., says he’s confident the Trump International Hotel fronting Pennsylvania Avenue a few blocks from the White House will be a place for both Democrats and Republicans — no matter who wins.“It’s not designed to be a partisan hotel,” Trump Jr. said. “It’s a luxury hotel for all of D.C.”That remains to be seen. Hundreds of people protested outside the hotel during the ribbon-cutting Wednesday. The rally started as a protest demanding that Trump recognize union representation for workers at a Las Vegas hotel, but it broadened into a larger anti-Trump event.Trump attended the ribbon-cutting, calling it a “metaphor for what we can accomplish” and taking precious time away from an apparently sagging campaign. He summed up the project with only a few words: “under budget and ahead of schedule.” And he noted the renovation and operation of the hotel had created hundreds of jobs. The Trump Organization agreed to open the hotel by 2018 and invest $200 million in it in a deal with the federal government, which owns the site. A Trump website describes the project as costing $200 million, so it was unclear what the “under budget” statement referred to.The hotel staff appears as diverse as any workforce in America — despite Trump’s divisive remarks about immigrants, Muslims and other ethnic groups. A note atop the Gideon Bible in every guest room states that Qurans and other holy books are available upon request, a standard amenity at luxury hotels.More news: Can you guess the top Instagrammed wedding locations in the world?Trump supporter Brenda Dunaway, at the 263-room hotel with friends for lunch Wednesday, stood in the lobby beneath chandeliers and a soaring glass roof and gave her approval. “It’s beautiful and tastefully done,” she said. “I hope it’s a big success.”Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric led two celebrity chefs, Jose Andres and Geoffrey Zakarian, to back out of running restaurants in the hotel, but David Burke’s Prime BLT is open in the lobby. Burke was on hand Tuesday night to chat with diners. No second restaurant has been announced. The five-star Trump International Hotel is located in an 1899 landmark, the Old Post Office, which was in disrepair when the Trump Organization won a bid from the federal government to turn it into a hotel in 2013.Nina Gardner, a consultant who lives in the area, decided to attend the protest when she heard about it Wednesday morning. “I’m totally against Donald Trump and his candidacy,” she said. She has friends who are boycotting Ivanka Trump’s clothing and jewelry line, and she predicted his campaign would “end up hurting his business.”Rates at Trump hotels have been falling and some residents of a Trump apartment building in New York are trying to have the name removed. But Ivanka Trump insisted all was well as she stood by her father’s side Wednesday: “Our business at Trump Hotels continues to thrive.”Rates start around $400 most nights but cheapest rooms were over $600 for the night before Trump’s visit. Suites run into the thousands. Some five-star D.C. hotels charge much more.More news: Universal enhances popular Harry Potter vacation package with new perksThe hotel’s renovation has been criticized for an excess of glitz and gold leaf — signature Trump decor — while covering up marble floors with carpets and walls with drapes. The Trumps defend the renovation as a mix of old and new.John Cullinane, an architect who worked on the project early on but left, had been among its critics, but declined to comment when reached by phone, saying the Trumps had sent him a letter threatening legal action. The hotel’s managing director, Mickael Damelincourt, said the hotel’s prime D.C. location and 300,000 square feet of meeting space, along with the city’s largest luxury ballroom, ensures its success. He said the hotel had already hosted two weddings and “board of director meetings from major corporations,” but declined to identify any of the groups.A clock tower that’s part of the Old Post Office has traditionally been open to the public, offering views of the city from one of the highest points in Washington. It’s closed for renovations, but Donald Trump Jr. said it should be open by the end of the year and will be operated by the National Park Service.Rick Tyler, former spokesman for Trump’s primary rival, Sen. Ted Cruz, said that “because it’s in D.C., there’s a layer of political consideration” among potential hotel guests. “But my guess is Donald Trump will lose and people will more or less forget about that,” he said. “Very few will make a decision about staying there based on Donald Trump’s candidacy.” << Previous PostNext Post >> Friday, October 28, 2016 Tags: Donald Trump, Trump Hotels Trump hotel in Washington rises as luxury oasis from campaign chaos
